We hired epli for a family photoshoot after she was recommended by a friend of a friend. When we discussed the shoot on the phone she asked a bit about my toddler and talked about her approach to working with small children. At that point I felt she had a deep understanding and respect for children, but I didn't realize how important this was for capturing our family until we met in person. My daughter was quickly not only comfortable but happy, engaged, silly, and delighted during the shoot, she is frequently a bit reserved and shy with new humans so this was a big deal. What I didn't fully realize ahead of time was that this would allow for some truly beautiful and unique family photos- a rarity. Our daughter considered epli her friend by the time she left and asked her to come back again. We love the resulting photos and the experience as a whole- would definitely work with epli again in a second!

I highly recommend epli! She has now done 3 shoots for my family over the past few years. Not only does she have an eye for beautiful photos, but she is amazing with children. Somehow, she has the ability to engage children and make them listen to her (she managed to take a picture of 8 children between the ages of 9 months and 11 years, and was able to get them ALL to look AND smile!). She is always on time and returns the pictures to us shortly after our shoot with her. epli photographed our wedding at city hall in San Francisco, the pre-ceremony preparations, as well as the reception at our home. She arrived with both excitement about the day and a calm, grounding energy that could not have been more appropriate for the moment. All day I felt that I had a supportive friend by my side. She worked in the most natural and nonintrusive way, setting everyone at ease. epli deftly captured the day’s most intimate moments. When I saw the photos, I was blown away both by their beauty and her ability to “tell the story of the day” in a way that captured all the feelings for the moment, the place and the people. Somehow she managed to document the most important moments and make everyone look there best while doing so.
epli has since taken professional head shots for me and, again, I was amazed at how she seemed able capture me at my best.

We did a family photo shoot with Epli and were thrilled with the results. She has such a gift for capturing personalities and the real moments of life. The photos are beautifully composed and yet not at all staged. The experience felt totally natural and fun. Epli came up with some ideas for activities we could do, and we suggested some too.
